This Indian Standard (First Revision) which is identical withISO 6431 : 1992 `Pneumatic fluid power - Single rod cylinders, 1000kPa (1O bar) series, with detachable mountings, bores from 32 mm to320 mm - Mounting dimensions, issued by the InternationalOrganization for Standardization (ISO), was adopted by the Bureauof Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Pneumatic FluidPower Systems Sectional Committee and approval of the ProductionEngineering Division Council.

This standard was first published in 1982 based on ISO/DIS 6431`Pneumatic fluid power systems - Single rod cylinders withdetachable mountings - 10 bar series - Mounting dimensions.Consequent upon printing of ISO 6431 : 1992, the revision of thisstandard was taken up and the committee dealing with the subjectdecided to adopt this as Indian Standard.
