1 Scope

1.1 This standard covers positive list of constituents ofstyrene polymers, namely, the polymers, residual monomers,catalysts, emulsifying agents, suspension agents, miscellaneouspolymerization additives like process oxidants, and chain transferagents, polymerization ingredients and auxiliary items for workingwhich may be regarded as safe for use, when properly processed, incontact with foodstuffs, pharmaceuticals and drinking water andwhen present in the prescribed limits of concentration.

1.2 The positive list does not purport to establish thesuitability of the ingredient singly in a particular foodstuff fromother than toxicological considerations.
