1 Scope
1.1 This Indian Standard covers requirements of electrodepositedtin-lead coatings on fabricated articles of iron, steel, copper, and copper alloys, to protect them against corrosion, to improveand preserve solderability over long periods of storage, and toimprove anti-galling characteristics.
1.2 This standard applies to electrodeposited coatingscontaining a minimum of 50 percent and a maximum of 70 percent tin.The specification applies to mat bright, and flow-brightenedtin-lead coatings.
1.3 This standard does not apply to sheet, strip, or wire in theunfabricated form, or to threaded articles having basic majordiameters up to and including 20 mm.
