IS 10227 : 1997 Fishing vessels - Trawl winches - Specification

1 Scope

1.1 This Indian Standard specifies requirements andcharacteristics of single-drum and double-drum trawl winches withelectric, electro-hydraulic, hydraulic diesel or externally powereddrive.

1.2 The winches are used for hauling-in, paying-out and holdingthe trawl rope while fishing by means of trawling fishing gear.

1.3 When equipped with additional auxiliary drums, they may alsobe used for auxiliary operations when hauling-in, paying-out andemptying the trawl net.
