1 Scope
1.1 This standard (Part 3) specifies the requirements and testsfor `Nyvin type cables for aircraft wiring suitable for use incircuits in which the voltage between conductors, between aconductor and a metal braid surrounding it and between a conductorand the aircraft structure does not exceed 600 Vrms and thefrequency does not exceed 1600 Hz. These cables are suitable foruse where, in continuous service, no combination of ambienttemperature and conductor current produces a stabilized conductortemperature which exceeds 105?C. These cables arealso suitable for fixed wiring in aircraft when temperatures up to-75?C are encountered, but are not suitable forsevere flexing at temperatures below -30?C.
1.2 These cables do not support combustion.
1.3 The cables are suitable for use in areas where ester-basefluids are present.
