1 Scope

Covers the system of designation and marking of single pointcutting tools with carbide tips as covered in IS 2163 : 1976`Carbide tipped single point turning tools`, IS 6075 : 1971`Carbide tipped single point planing tools, IS 8778 : 1978 `Singlepoint carbide tipped external threading tools, IND2 (55º or 609º)and Indian Standard for single point carbide tipped internal threading tools, IND 3 (55º or 60º).

1.1 This standard is not applicable for arbor boring tools.
