IS 10419 : 1982 Method for Determination of Brittleness of Photographic Film

1 Scope

1.1 This standard prescribes the method for determiningquantitatively the brittleness of photographic film.

1.1.1 This test is not a universal brittleness test for allfilms in all possible applications. In a particular situation thetest may not correctly rate films for brittleness, and some specialtest may have to be devised to duplicate the particular type ofstress encountered.

1.1.2 The method is applicable to film with or without a gelatinbacking, and may also be applied to either raw or processed film,although the brittleness level of a given film may be quitedifferent after processing from that before processing.
