NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (First Revision) which is identical with IEC 61252 : 2017 ‘Electroacoustics - Specifications for personal sound exposure meters’ issued by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Audio, Video and Multimedia Systems and Equipment Sectional Committee and approval of the Electronics and Information Technology Division Council.

This Standard was originally published in 1982 and was largely based on IEC 29C (C.O.) 43 ‘Personal sound exposure meter’ issued by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). The first revision of this Indian standard aligns with IEC 61252 : 2017(ed 1.2).
