NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard which is identical with ISO 22496 : 2021 ‘Windows and pedestrian doors - Vocabulary’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards, on the recommendation of the Doors, Windows and Shutters Sectional Committee and approval of the Civil Engineering Division Council.

The ISO 22496 (first edition) cancelled and replaced the first edition of ISO 1804: 1972, whose adopted version was published by the Bureau of Indian Standards as IS 10428: 1983/ISO 1804: 1972 ‘Glossary of terms relating to doors’. Thus, with the adoption of ISO 22496, this standard is revised.
