IS 10471 : 1983 Recommended practice for corrosion prevention in electronic component and assemblies

1 SCOPE

1.1 This standard covers recommendations for prevention ofcorrosion of metallic materials in electronic components andassemblies. It does not deal with the electronic uses ofnon-metallic materials, such as plastics, composites, elastomersand other polymeric materials.

1.2 The scope of this standard is limited to the anticorrosiveperformance of metallic materials used in electronic components andrelated corrosion control measures.

1.2.1 This standard does not cover electrical or mechanicaldesign except those aspects which affect susceptibility towardscorrosion.

1.2.2 This standard however does not debar the use of otherproven commercial material or process selected and concurred by theprocuring agency or authority.
