IS 10518 : 1983 Snap flask moulding boxes and jackets

1 Scope

1.1 This standard covers requirements for snap flask mouldingboxes and the jackets used in foundry. The range of sizes coveredis from 295 x 295 mm to 480 x 480 mm.

1.1.1 Though the bigger sizes are heavy, yet these can bemanufactured and used efficiently with all the advantages of snapflask system. For the bigger sizes, special fittings like trunionsare provided for lifting the snap flasks with cranes. Such boxesshall be manufactured as agreed to between the manufacturer andpurchaser.

1.2 This standard applies to the following:  a) Cope anddrag boxes, provided with round bushes on one side and elongated onthe other.

b) The cope, provided with round bush on one side and elongatedon the other, and the drag boxes with two guide pins rigidly fixedon their lugs.
