IS 10605 : 1989 Steel globe valves (flanged and butt welded ends) for petroleum, petrochemical and allied industries - Specification

1 Scope

1.1 This standard specifies the requirements for cast or forgedcarbon and alloy steel globe valves with flanged or butt-weldedends.

1.2 This standard covers the valves in nominal sizes, from DN 50to DN 250 corresponding to nominal sizes in IS 9520 : 1980 `Nominalsize for valves' and classes 150 to 2 500.

1.3 The valves shall be of outside screw and yoke (OS and Y)with rising stem and hand-wheel and bolted bonnet type. Any specialsealing arrangement may be given based on agreement between thepurchaser and the manufacturer.

1.4 The standard nomenclature for valve parts is given in Fig.1.
