IS 10793 : Part 1 : 2018/ISO 6520-1 : 2007 Welding and Allied Processes - Classification of Geometric Imperfections in Metallic Materials Part 1 Fusion Welding
NATIONAL FOREWORD
This Indian Standard (Part 1) (First Revision) which is identical with ISO 6520-1 : 2007 ‘Welding and allied processes — Classification of geometric imperfections in metallic materials — Part 1: Fusion welding’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Welding General and Its Applications Sectional Committee and approval of the Metallurgical Engineering Division Council.
This standard was originally published in 1983 identical with ISO 6520 : 1982. As ISO has revised its standard in two parts. Similarly, the committee has now decided to adopt this standard in two parts. Other part of this standard is:
Part 2 Welding with pressure
The first revision of this standard has been undertaken to align it with the latest version of ISO 6520-1 : 2007 to make pace with the latest International practices.
The text of ISO Standard has been approved as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations. Certain terminologies and conventions are, however, not identical to those used in Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:
a) Wherever the words ‘International Standard’ appear referring to this standard, they should be read as ‘Indian Standard’.
b) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker while in Indian Standards, the current practice is to use a point (.) as the decimal marker.
