IS 10862 : 1984 Classification and Basic Requirements of Pilot Craft

1 Scope

1.1 Classification and requirements for self-propelled watercraft employed in the pilot servicing of merchant ships in closedwaters and estuaries.

1.2 The applicability of the requirements of this standard topilot craft navigating under a navy flag shall be determined by thecompetent authorities.

1.3 The water craft employed mainly in pilotage of merchantships by leading may be relieved of adhering to these requirementscompletely or partially at the discretion of the competentauthorities.
