National Foreword
This Indian Standard which is identical with ISO 4391 : 1983 `Hydraulic fluid power - Pumps, motors and integral transmissions -Parameter definitions and letter symbols`, issued by theInternational Organization for Standardization (ISO), was adoptedby the Indian Standards Institution on the recommendations of theFluid Power Systems and Components Sectional Committee and approvedby the Mechanical Engineering Division Council.
In the adopted standard certain terminology, conventions andmethod of presentation may be different from those normally used inthe Indian Standard. Wherever the words `international Standard`appear referring to this standard, they shall be read as `IndianStandard`.
