NATIONAL FOREWORD
This’ Indian Standard which is identical with ISO 1948 : 1987 ‘Photography - Front lens barrels up to 127 mm - Dimensions important to the connection of auxiliaries’, issued by the International Organization for Standardization ( ISO ), was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendations of the Photographic Equipment Sectional Committee : LMD 24 ) and approval of the Light Mechanical Engineering Division Council.
This standard, first published in 1984, was based on ISO 1948 : 1973 ‘Photography - Front lens barrels up to 100 mm - Dimensions important to the connection of auxiliaries’, issued by
The International Organization for,Standardization ( ISO ). Harmonization of the standard with International Standard has been made by the adoption of ISO 1948 : 1987.
In the adopted standard certain terminology and conventions are not identical with those used in Indian Standards; attention is especially drawn to the following:
a) Wherever the words ‘International Standard’ appear referring to this standard, they should be read as ‘Indian Standard’.
b) Comma ( , ) has been used as a decimal marker while in Indian Standards the current practice is to use a point f . ) as the decimal marker.
