NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 2) (Second Revision) which is identical with ISO 1004-2 : 2013 ‘Information processing — Magnetic ink character recognition — Part 2: Print specifications for CMC7’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Banking and Financial Services Sectional Committee and approval of the Management and Systems Division Council.

This standard was published in 1985 and subsequently revised in 2005 as ISO 1004 : 1995. This revision has been necessitated because ISO 1004 : 1995 has been technically revised and published in two parts as ISO 1004-1 : 2013 and 1004-2 : 2013

The other part in this series is:

Part 1 Print specifications for E13B

The text of ISO Standard has been approved as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations. Certain conventions are however not identical to those used in Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:

a) Wherever the words ‘International Standard’ appear referring to this standard, they should be read as ‘Indian Standard’.

b) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker while in Indian Standards, the current practice is to use a point (.) as the decimal marker.
