IS 11222 : 1985 Dials, scales and indexes for indicating analogue measuring instruments

1 Scope

1.1 This standard covers the requirements for dials, scales andindexes of indicating analogue instruments.

1.2 This standard does not cover dials and scales of glassthermometers and other instruments in which the indication is readdirectly by the level of liquid without any pointer.

1.3 This standard does not cover the requirements of ribbon typeindicator or bargraph indicator.

1.4 This standard does not cover scales which are read bymagnification with an optical device or by projection on a screen.

1.5 This standard does not specify the accuracy of calibrationof indicating instrument to which the scales are applied.
