1 Scope

1.1 This standard prescribes the method for determination of theheat distortion temperature of rigid cellular thermal insulationmaterials using a cantilever test specimen.

1.1.1 The test is useful for the initial screening of rigidceilular thermal insulation materials.

NOTE - The heat distortion temperature values obtained aredependent on the specified method of test and the loadingconditions used and no correlation with the maximum temperature ofuse of a material in service is implied.
