1. SCOPE

1.1 This standard specifies the requirements, methods of sampling and test for ionomer resins for the manufacture of plastic items used in contact with foodstuffs, pharmaceuticals and drinking water.

1.2 This standard does not purport to establish the suitability of the packaging media with particular foodstuffs, pharmaceutical and drinking water, from other than toxicological considerations.
