IS 11731 : Part 1 : 1986 Methods of test for determination of the flammability of solid electrical insulating materials when exposed to an igniting source: Part 1 Horizontal specimen method

1 Scope

1.1 This standard (Part 1) covers the horizontal specimen methodin which the burning rate is evaluated on the basis of extent ofburning and/or the velocity of the flame propagation.

The tests are carried out on horizontal position of testspecimens of fixed dimensions and under definite assessmentcriteria with specified igniting sources.
