This Indian Standard (Part 1) (First Revision) which isidentical with ISO 5784-1 : 1988 `Fluid power systems andcomponents - Fluid logic circuits - Part 1: Symbols for binarylogic and related functions, issued by the InternationalOrganization for Standardization (ISO), was adopted by the Bureauof Indian Standards on the recommendations of the Basic Fluid PowerSectional Committee and approved by the Production EngineeringDivision Council.

This standard was first issued in 1986 based on ISODIS 5784/1.Consequent upon the publication of ISO 5784-1 : 1988, this standardhas been revised by adopting ISO 5784-1 : 1988, to bring it in linewith ISO standard. This standard have been formulated into threeparts. The other two parts are as follows:
