NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (First Revision) which is identical with ISO 6605 : 2017 'Hydraulic fluid power - Test methods for hoses and hose assemblies' issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation of the Fluid Power Systems Sectional Committee and approval of the Production and General Engineering Division Council.

In hydraulic fluid power systems, power is transmitted and controlled through a liquid under pressure within an enclosed circuit. A hose assembly is a flexible fluid power conductor consisting of a length of hose attached, at both ends, to hose fittings.

This standard was originally published in 1987 formulated taking assistance from ISO 6605 : 1986. The first revision of this standard has been undertaken to align it with the latest version of ISO 6605 : 2017.
