IS 12188 : 1987 Electric direct-arc melting furnaces

1 Scope

1.1 This standard covers the service conditions and designfeatures of three-phase direct arc melting furnaces of nominalcapacities between 2 and 50 tonnes operating on 100 percent steelscrap (without direct reduced iron) and conventional fullyrefractory lined shell and roof (without water cooled panels forside wall roof).
