NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 3) (Second Revision) which is identical with CISPR TR 18-3 : 2017 ‘Radio interference characteristics of overhead power lines and high-voltage equipment - Part 3: Code of practice for minimizing the generation of radio noise’ issued by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation of the Electromagnetic Compatibility Sectional Committee and approval of the Electronics and Information Technology Division Council.

This Standard was originally published in 1993 and subsequently revised in 2016. Second revised of this standard was based on CISPR/TR 18-3 : 2010. The second revision has been undertaken to align it with the latest version of CISPR TR 18-3 : 2017.

The text of the IEC standard has been approved as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations. Certain terminologies and conventions are, however, not identical to those used in the Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:

a) Wherever the words 'International Standard' appear referring to this standard, they should be read as 'Indian Standard'.

b) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker, while in Indian Standards, the current practice is to use a point (.) as the decimal marker.
