1 Scope

1.1 This standard prescribes a gas chromatographic method forthe determination of chlorpyrifos [0, 0-diethyl 0-(3, 5,6-trichloro-2-pyridyl)-phosphorothioate] residues in foodcommodities.

1.1.1 The method has a limit of detection of 0.005 �g/g (0.005 ppm).

1.1.2 Standardized thin layer chromatographic (TLC) proceduresmay be followed, if necessary, for the confirmation of identity ofthe residues.
