1 Scope

This practice is intended as an aid in establishing a suitableprocedure for the heat treatment of titanium alloys to assureproper physical and mechanical properties. Times and temperaturesare typical for various forms, sizes and manufacturing methods donot exactly define the optimum heat treatment for a specific item.Therefore, this practice is not intended to be used as a substitutefor a detailed production process or procedure.
