IS 12381 : 1994 Coal (Char) Reactivity for Direct Reduction Process - Method of Determination

1 Scope

This standard specifies the methods to be followed fordetermination of reactivity of coal to be used for direct reductionprocesses.

Reactivity is measured by reacting the charred coal with carbondioxide at high temperatures (950 - 1000�C) andmeasuring the extent of conversion to carbon monoxide.
