1 Scope

1.1 This standard (Part 1) prescribes a test method toassess the ignitability of material combinations, such ascovers and fillings used in upholstered seating, whensubjected to a shouldering cigarette as an ignition source.

1.2 The test measures only the ignitability of a combinationof materials used in upholstered seating and not the ignitability of a particular finished item of furnitureincororating these materials. They give an indication of, but cannot guarantee, the ignition behaviour of thefinished item of furniture,
