1 Scope
1.1 This standard gives recommendations and broad guidelines forselection, transportation, laying, jointing, termination, testing,commissioning, maintenance and fault localization of power cablesup to and including 33 kV ratings.
This standard applies to cables conforming to IS 692 : 1973, IS1554 : Part 1 : 1976, IS 1554 : Part 2 : 1981, IS 7098 : Part 1 :1977 and IS 7098 : Part 2 : 1973.
1.2 This standard does not apply to installation of cables forspecial applications, such as, mines, quarries and oil fields whereother statutory regulations govern.
