1 Scope

1.1 This standard (Part 2) covers the use of magneticinstruments for the non-destructive measurement of the thickness ofa nonmagnetic coating on a magnetic basis metal.

1.2 This method also covers the use of magnetic instruments forthe non-destructive measurement of the thickness of anelectrodeposited nickel coating on either a magnetic ornon-magnetic substrate.
