1 Scope

1.1 This standard is applicable to non-multiplexed two wirebinary direct voltage signals of nominal 24 volt level that areused to transmit information between elements in industrial processmeasurement and control systems.

1.2 This standard does not apply to signals that are entirelywithin such elements.
