NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 2/Sec 1) (First Revision) which is Identical with IEC 60870-2-1 : 1995 ‘Telecontrol equipment and systems - Part 2: Operating conditions Section 1: Power supply and electromagnetic compatibility’ issued by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Power System Control and Associated Communications Sectional Committee and approval of the Electronics and Information Technology Division Council.

This Standard was originally published in 1989 and was identical with IEC 60870-2-1 : 1987. The first revision of this standard aligns this Indian Standard with IEC 60870-2-1 : 1995.
