This Indian Standard (First Revision) which is identical with ISO 1735 : 2004 Cheese and processedcheese products - Determination of fat content - Gravimetric method (Reference method)? issued bythe International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standardson the recommendations of the Dairy Products and Equipment Sectional Committee and approval of theFood and Agriculture Division Council.
This standard was first published in 1989 based on the earlier version of the International Standard,namely, ISO 1735:1987 under dual numbering. This standard is being brought out to align it with thelatest edition of the ISO Standard.
The text of the ISO Standard has been approved as suitable for publication as an Indian Standardwithout deviations. Certain terminology and conventions are, however, not identical to those used inIndian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:
a) Wherever the words ?International Standard? appear referring to this standard, they shouldbe read as ?Indian Standard?.
b) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker while in Indian Standards, the currentpractice is to use a point (.) as the decimal marker.
The concerned Technical Committee responsible for the preparation of this standard has reviewed theprovisions of the following International Standard and has decided that it is acceptable for use in conjunctionwith this standard:
