This Indian Standard, which is identical with ISO 3275 : 1974 `Information processing - implementation of the 7-bit coded character set and its 7-bit and 8-bit extensions on 3.81 mm magnetic tape cassette for data Interchange', issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on 15 December 1989 on the recommendation of the Computers, Business Machines and Calculators Sectional Committee (LTD 24) and approval of the Electronics and Telecommunication Division Council.
