This Indian Standard (Part 1) (First Revision) which is identical with ISO 3272-1 : 2003 ‘Microfilming of technical drawings and other drawing office documents — Part 1: Operating procedures’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Documentation and Information Sectional Committee and approval of the Management and Systems Division Council.

This standard was originally published in 1990 based on ISO 3272-1 : 1983. The first revision of this standard has been undertaken with a view to bring it in line with the latest version of ISO Standard which has been technically revised.
