This Indian Standard (Part 2), which is identical with ISO8860-2 : 1987 `Information processing - Data interchange on 90 mm(3.5 in) flexible disk cartridges using modified frequencymodulation recording at 7 958 ftprad on 80 tracks on each side -Part 2 : Track format', issued by the International Organizationfor Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of IndianStandards on 15 December 1989 on the recommendations of theComputers, Business Machines and Calculators Sectional Committee(LTD24) and approval of the Electronics and TelecommunicationDivision Council.
The text of the ISO standard has been approved as suitable forpublication as Indian Standard without deviations. Certainconventions are, however, not identical with those used in IndianStandards. Attention is particularly drawn to This:
a) Wherever the words `International Standard' appear, referringto this standard, they should be read as `Indian Standard'.
b) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker while in IndianStandards the current practice is to use a point (.) as the decimalmarker.
c) For the purpose of this Indian Standard, metric dimensionsshall be applicable.
