IS 12992 : Part 1 : 1993 Safety Relief Valves - Spring Loaded - Specification - Part 1 : Design

1 Scope

1.1 This standard covers the specification for flanged steelspring loaded safety relief valves. Basic requirements are givenfor:

a) orifice designation and area;

b) valve size and rating, inlet and outlet;

c) materials, body and spring;

d) pressure-temperature limits; and

e) centre-to-face dimensions, inlet and outlet.

1.2 The valves regulated by IBR (Indian Boiler Regulations) areexcluded from the scope of this standard.
