1 Scope

1.1 This standard (part 1) specifies general and safetyrequirements for electronic ballasts for use on ac supplies up to 1000 V at 50 Hz or 60 Hz with operating frequencies deviating fromthe supply frequency associated with tubular fluorescent lamps asspecified in IS 2418 : Part 2 : 1977 and other tubular fluorescentlamps for high frequency operation.
