IS 13030 : 1991 Method of test for laboratory determination of water content, porosity, density and related properrties of rock material

1 Scope

This standard gives the procedure for the test to evaluate watercontent, porosity, density and related properties of rock material.The following test methods have been covered:

a) Determination of the water content of rock sample;

b) Determination of porosity and density using saturation andcaliper technique;

c) Determination of porosity and density using saturation andbuoyancy; and

d) Determination of porosity and density using mercurydisplacement and grain specific gravity technique.
