IS 13108 : 2019/ISO 8036 : 2015 Optics and Photonics - Microscopes - Immersion Liquids for Light Microscopy
New Standard from Last Update.
NATIONAL FOREWORD
This Indian Standard (Second Revision) which is identical with ISO 8036 : 2015 ‘Microscopes — Immersion liquids for light microscopy’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation of the Educational Instruments and Equipment Sectional Committee and approval of the Production and General Engineering Division Council.
This standard was originally published in 1986 and subsequently revised in 2002. First revision of this standard was identical with ISO 8036-1 : 1998. The second revision of this standard has been under taken to align it with the latest version of ISO 8036 : 2015.
A microscope with high resolution power reveals the object characteristics precisely/finely which is aimed to. In order to improve resolution power, immersion liquids are used between the front lens of the objective and the cover slip. This standard delineates the types and the characteristic requirements of the immersion liquids.
The text of ISO standard has been approved as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations. Certain terminologies and conventions are, however, not identical to those used in Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:
a) Wherever the words ‘International Standard’ appear referring to this standard, they should be read as ‘Indian Standard’.
b) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker, while in Indian Standards, the current-practice is to use a point (.) as the decimal marker.
