This Indian Standard, which is identical with ISO 8040 : 1986`Optics and optical instruments - Microscopes - Connectingdimensions of tube slides and tube slots', issued by theInternational Organization for Standardization (ISO), was adoptedby the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of theOptical and Mathematical Instruments Sectional Committee (LMD 20)and approval of the Light Mechanical Engineering Division Council.
