1 Scope

1.1 This standard covers method for the determination ofaromatic (C_A), paraffinic (C_p)and naphthenic (C_N) carbon in mineral base oils.Oils containing additives may only be investigated off the additivehave no absorbance in the spectral regions under examination. Theprocedure is not suitable for materials containing water.
