NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 1) (Third Revision) which is identical to ISO 6149-1 : 2022 'Connections for hydraulic fluid power and general use - Ports and stud ends with ISO 261 metric threads and O-ring sealing - Part 1: Ports with truncated housing for O-ring seal' issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Fluid Power Systems Sectional Committee and approval of the Production and General Engineering Division Council.

This standard was first published in 1991 and was subsequently revised in 1999 and 2021. This revision has been brought out to align it with the latest version of ISO 6149-1. In this revision, corrections have been made to references in Table 2.

This standard has been published in three parts. The other parts in this series are:

Part 2 Dimensions, design, test methods and requirements for heavy-duty (S series) stud ends

Part 3 Dimensions, design, test methods and requirements for light-duty (L series) stud ends

The text of ISO standard has been approved as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations. Certain terminologies and conventions are, however, not identical to those used in Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:

a) Wherever the words 'International Standard' appear referring to this standard, they should be read as 'Indian Standard'; and

b) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker while in Indian Standards, the current practice is to use a point (.) as the decimal marker.
