Revised Standard from Last Update.

NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 2) (First Revision) which is identical with ISO 6149-2 : 2006 'Connections for hydraulic fluid power and general use - Ports and stud ends with ISO 261 metric threads and O-ring sealing - Part 2: Dimensions, design, test methods and requirements for heavy-duty (S series) stud ends' issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation of the Fluid Power Systems Sectional Committee and approval of the Production and General Engineering Division Council.

In hydraulic fluid power systems, power is transmitted and controlled through a liquid under pressure within an enclosed circuit. In general applications, a fluid (liquid or gas) may be conveyed under pressure.

Components are connected through their threaded ports by stud ends on fluid conductor connectors to tubes and pipes or to hose fittings and hoses.

This standard was first published in 1999 and was identical with ISO 6149-2 : 1999 'Connections for hydraulic fluid power and general use - Ports and stud ends with ISO 261 metric threads and O-ring sealing - Part 2: Dimensions, design, test methods and requirements for heavy-duty (S series) stud ends'. The first revision of this standard is taken up to align with the latest version of ISO 6149-2 published in 2006.
