NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Second Revision) which is identical with ISO 4135 : 2022 ‘Anaesthetic and respiratory equipment - Vocabulary’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Anaesthetic, Resuscitation and Allied Equipment Sectional Committee and approval of the Medical Equipment and Hospital Planning Division Council.

This standard was first published in 2013 which was identical with ISO 4135 : 1979 ‘Anaesthesiology - Vocabulary’. It was subsequently revised and published as IS 13200 : 2015/ISO 4135 : 2001 as an identical adoption of ISO 4135 : 2001 ‘Anaesthetic and respiratory equipment - Vocabulary’. This second revision has been taken up to align it with the latest edition of ISO 4135 : 2022.
