This Indian Standard which is identical with ISO 3925`Earth-moving machinery - Diagnostic ports issued by theInternational Organization for Standardization (ISO), was adoptedby the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the BulkHandling Equipment Sectional Committee (HMD 07) and approval of theHeavy Mechanical Engineering Division Council.

Provision of diagnostic ports in earth-moving machinery helps ineasily measuring the fluid temperature, pressure and flow as alsoto take out fluid samples as and when required. The accessibilityto ports, size and types of ports are important parameters ofdiagnostic ports and standardization of these aspects would provideuniform practice to be followed by the manufacturers ofearth-moving machinery and use of these ports in earth-movingmachinery by the users of such machinery.
