IS 13360 : Part 11 : Sec 7 : 2018/ISO 6427 : 2013 Plastics - Methods of Testing Part 11 Special Properties Section 7 Determination of matter extractable by organic solvents (Conventional method)
NATIONAL FOREWORD
This Indian Standard (Part 11/Sec 7) (First Revision) which is identical with ISO 6427 : 2013 ‘Plastics — Determination of matter extractable by organic solvents (conventional methods)’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Methods of Sampling and Test for Plastics Sectional Committee and approval of the Petroleum, Coal and Related Products Division Council.
The standard was originally published in 1997 which was identical with ISO 6427 : 1992. The first revision of this standard has been undertaken to align it with the latest version of ISO 6427 : 2013.
In this revision, the major changes are as follows:
- second sentence of 5.1 has been deleted.
- the minimum density for which the method is suitable for PE has been indicated directly in footnote “e” to Table 1, rather than referring the reader to ISO 1872-1.
- table 1 has been split into two tables for ease of comprehension.
The text of ISO Standard has been approved as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations. Certain conventions are however not identical to those used in Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:
a) Wherever the words ‘International Standard’ appear referring to this standard, they should be read as ‘Indian Standard’.
b) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker while in Indian Standards, the current practice is to use a point (.) as the decimal marker.
