NATIONAL FOREWORD
The Indian Standard (Part 8/Sec 8) (Second Revision) which is identical with ISO 3451-1 : 2019 ‘Plastics - Determination of ash - Part 1: General methods’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation of the Methods of Sampling and Test for Plastics Sectional Committee and approval of the Petroleum, Coal and Related Products Division Council.
This standard was originally published in 2004 and subsequently revised in 2018. The first revision of this standard was identical with ISO 3451-1 : 2008. The second revision of this standard has been undertaken to align it with the latest version of ISO 3451-1: 2019.
In this revision, automated instrument method (Method D) has been added (see 4).
