1 Scope

1.1 This standard (Part 3) covers the procedures for obtainingthe value of slope mass rating (SMR) for preliminary assessment ofthe stability of rock slopes. The approach is based on modificationof RMR system using adjustment factors related to discontinuityorientation with reference to slope as well as failure mode andslope excavation methods.
